Full description from the source
A course built around the Gulbenkian Música 26/27 season and the great symphonic and chamber repertoire from the Baroque to the twentieth century, designed to deepen the understanding and enjoyment of the music performed across the season. It is aimed at people who love music but are not specialists, offering a simple, accessible way into the basics of musicology and its history: musical forms and genres, terms and their meanings, instruments, the sections and layout of an orchestra, notation, and the lives of a number of composers. Each session takes a theme and a starting point from concerts in the season itself, which participants are encouraged to attend.
