Full description from the source
October is a particularly special month for birdwatching in the Gulbenkian Garden. At this time of year, we may encounter species that remain here for only a few days, stopping to rest and feed during their remarkable intercontinental migrations. At the same time, other species heading to the Iberian Peninsula to spend the colder months may just be arriving. A birdwatching walk at this time of year can therefore bring some delightful surprises. The Gulbenkian Garden is a true oasis in the heart of Lisbon, remarkable not only for its rich landscape and distinctive corners, but also for the diversity and changing rhythms of its birdlife throughout the year. On this exclusive visit for Cartão Gulbenkian Mais members, we invite you to experience the Garden through sound: leave the noise of the city behind and turn your attention to nature’s sounds. Listen to the birds that inhabit the Garden, discover the variety of sounds that make up this natural chorus, and learn about some of the species that find refuge here. Led by Professor João E. Rabaça, the visit will introduce participants to some of the bird species found in the Gulbenkian Garden, with a particular focus on recognising their songs and calls. The Cartão Gulbenkian Mais programme has a limited capacity. If you can’t attend, please cancel your ticket. Enter your MyGulbenkian account, open the “Tickets” section, and click “Cancel”.
