Full description from the source
This performance brings together two artists in a re-encounter with surrealism, across three sessions that explore the ridiculous and break away from conventions. In a partnership between the Alkantara Festival and CAM, Coisa-Ponta stems from the artistic affinity between Ana Rita Teodoro (Barreiro, 1982) and Márcia Lança (Beja, 1982) in a project fueled by surrealism. The artists seek to establish an ongoing dialogue with this artistic movement, through an approach that enables the coexistence of the sensitive and the absurd. In this duet, the artists employ methods that suspend mental control, piecing together loose elements to make room for the unexpected, and demanding heightened and expanded attention from the audience. Between movement, imagination and free association, the stage is transformed into a place of unlikely encounters. Through the interplay of materials, gestures and languages, the doors are opened to a multiplicity of meanings that may emerge from Coisa-Ponta . Each performance lasts 60 minutes and audio description is available only for the performance on Sunday, 22 November. Smoke is used in this show. Contains nudity. Audience members are free to move around the venue, and seating will be made available for anyone who requires it. Seats for people with reduced mobility, who uses a wheelchair, are available. They must be purchased in person, at our ticket office or by telephone. Duration: 60 min
