The album O que a terra deixou para trás , by the sextet led by Vicente Oliveira , offers a musical journey combining the richness of Portuguese traditional music with the world of jazz. Ancestral melodies from Portuguese traditional music are reinterpreted through arrangements for sextet. By bringing these two distinct genres together, the project explores cultural identity in contemporary musical contexts and introduces distinctive sounds through a repertoire drawn from different regions of Portugal, from Trás-os-Montes to the Algarve. The album also includes two original compositions by Vicente Oliveira, the group’s guitarist and leader.
